1. Who we are

Batch Studios Inc. ("Batch", "we", "us", or "our") is a Delaware corporation with its principal address at 80 Nassau Street, Suite 502, New York, NY 10038. We provide automated post-production services for film and video, including the BATCH rotoscoping pipeline and the Batch Portal desktop application.

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use our products. It applies to all users of batch.film and the Batch Portal application. For enterprise and studio engagements, a signed data-processing agreement or order form may provide additional or controlling terms. For production media submitted by business clients, Batch acts as a service provider and data processor and processes that content solely on the client's documented instructions. A data-processing agreement, including Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable, is available on request to privacy@batch.film.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Account information

When you create a Batch account, we collect your name, email address, organization name, and authentication credentials, managed through an industry-standard authentication provider, with multi-factor authentication available on your account.

2.2 Production media

When you submit film or video footage for processing, we collect the footage files, the technical metadata embedded in the source media (such as timecode, codec, resolution, color space, camera make and model, lens, and embedded XMP, iXML, BWF, or ASC-CDL data), and the rendered output (such as mattes, alpha channels, depth maps, and keyframes).

2.3 Usage information

When you use the Batch Portal application, we collect operational logs including IP address, browser and operating-system fingerprint, request timestamps, error events, and feature-usage telemetry. This is used for service operation and debugging, not for tracking you across other services.

3. How we use information

We do not use your production media to train, fine-tune, or improve machine-learning models unless you have expressly agreed otherwise in a signed training agreement.

4. AI processing and training data

The Batch rotoscoping pipeline uses machine-learning models to produce mattes, depth maps, and related outputs. It is non-generative: it outputs segmentation mattes and depth maps and does not synthesize, generate, or alter picture content. By default:

Subject detection and biometrics. The Batch pipeline detects and tracks visual subjects within a shot or sequence to assign mattes and organize the work. This is used to distinguish subjects for production processing, not to perform facial recognition, determine real-world identity, or create biometric profiles. Batch does not intentionally extract, store, or process personally identifiable information as structured personal data, although client footage may incidentally contain identifiable individuals. Any such footage is protected with the same safeguards as other client media, including encryption in transit and at rest, scoped access, audit logging, retention limits, and automatic deletion.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we do not share your production content with any third party except as necessary to provide the Services to you.

7. Security

Batch maintains a content-security program designed to align with the Motion Picture Association (MPA) Content Security Best Practices and the Trusted Partner Network (TPN). Specifically:

We will notify affected clients of a confirmed security incident affecting their content without undue delay, and in any event within 72 hours of confirmation. No security system is perfect. If you suspect your account or data has been compromised, contact security@batch.film immediately.

8. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

California residents. Batch does not sell or share personal information as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act and has not done so in the preceding 12 months.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@batch.film. We will respond within 30 days.

9. Children's privacy

Batch services are intended for business use and are not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with information, please contact privacy@batch.film and we will delete it.

10. International users

Batch services are operated from the United States. By using our services from outside the United States, you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those of your country. Where required, transfers of personal data from the EEA, United Kingdom, or Switzerland are made under appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses incorporated into a data-processing agreement, available on request.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email to account holders and by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy. For customers operating under a signed agreement, changes to this Policy do not reduce the protections of that agreement during its committed term.
